Project Role
I mainly focused on the patient interviews, interaction pattern analysis, wireframing and concept development & visualisation.
“I dislike the fact that I have to showcase my insulin pump to the public, every time I eat, drink or party with friends.”
“The biggest issue is the uncertainty, I run around with the feeling of anxiety about my safety, every time I eat, snack, exercise or go for a walk.”
“There are so many interactions that I have to repeat over and over, cutting away just half of them would be a bliss.
This illustration showcases the interaction patterns a person have to perform every time there is an intake of calories or they exercise. Averaging of 42 necessary interactions a day or 14870 a year. Which we want to bring down by around 66%.
The wireframes started out as simple sketches utilizing iconography.
Through the interviews, we figured out that the medical language already familiar to diabetics was the correct way to go, to ensure safety.
The user will utilize the data at hand, to analyze if their insulin levels are stable. Being able to prepare for or hinder insulin shock before it is too late. The crown on the watch is used to switch to the next UI.
Secrecy
The users will be able to go through most of their daily tasks without having to bring their Insulin pump out in public – the blood glucose levels will be measured through the camera and receptor on the back of the watch.
Interchangeability
The vials are easily interchangeable, with a radial aluminum
push-button that allows the user to refill their device.
Learning Outcome
Simplifying essential icons or terms, might end up creating more confusion,
maybe even casualties co-creation and testing is there for a necessity.
